Both offensiwe phases cost the enemy 300 soldiers
killed,, 200 individual and Z0 crew-served weaPons captured'
Government casualties were 30 dead' In addition' 200
civilians were killed or wounded 4,500 houses were cornpletely
destroyed and 1,850 were darnaged'
A nurnber of refugee centers were set up by the pro-
vincial authorities at vinh Liern street, the prowincets main church,
the School of Pedagogy, the prirnary schools for boys and girls' the
kindergarten, and the Chua Ong pagoda'
